Pedro Nogueira

Pedro Nogueira is a biologist with a master’s degree in Sustainable Development Practice from Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ) and an MBA in Social Business Management from Ecological Research Institute (IPÊ) and University of Sao Paolo (USP). Pedro has 10 years of experience in sustainable zero deforestation and conversion of agricultural supply chains, restoration of degraded areas, agroforestry systems, GHG emissions and payment for environmental schemes. Previously in his career he worked at Sustainable Amazon Cattle Ranching (Pecsa), managing its ESG commitments, and at the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM) where he was part of the team that designed and implemented one of the most mature PES initiatives in the region, the Conserv Project. Pedro also runs his own social business/startup called Cumbaru, which is focused on restoration of degraded pastures through agroforestry systems in the Brazilian Amazon. Previous experience includes work with small, medium, and large size farmers, as well as traditional communities. Pedro speaks Portuguese and English.

Eduardo Bastos

Eduardo is the CEO of MyCarbon, a subsidiary of Minerva devoted to the development and commercialization of carbon credits. He is also the former Head of Bayer Crop Science. Eduardo is an Agronomy Engineer, graduated from University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, with an MBA in Business Management (FDC) and Marketing at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV). Eduardo has almost 25 years of career, always linked to sustainability, agribusiness and chemical sector. He is the member of the Brazilian Coalition on Climate, Forests and Agriculture.

Strong corporate executive education, undergraduate in electrical engineering (UFPA 2004), holds an MBA in Strategy Management (ESPM 2007) and an MBA in Finance (IBMEC 2010). Experience in several economy sectors such as telecom, services, mining, chemical industry, electrical energy, R&D, agroforestry, regenerative agriculture and green investments. Background in complex projects, complex sales, franchising/partnership management, sustainability, business modeling and shared service management.

Mariana Vasconcelos is a daughter of farmers, and cofounder and CEO of Agrosmart, techpioneer company by the World Economic Forum. Biz Dev with degrees from UNIFEI, ESALQ / USP, UCLA and Singularity University, Mariana was nominated MIT Technology Review Innovators under 35, Forbes Under 30 and Fast Company 100 Most Creative. She is a global ambassador for Thought for Food, expert in digital agriculture and considered one of the 100 most influential agribusiness people by Dinheiro Rural Magazine. Agrosmart is the largest network of agdata across Latin America. To solve the data shortage problem, Agrosmart’s field notebook tool aggregates information about crop production, climate, inputs, soil, and irrigation, and transforms this data into insights about yields, carbon and resilience through its ESG platform. Daniele Cesano

Daniele CESANO is Technical Coordinator of Adapta Sertão and Adapta Mata Atlantica, two research-action orineted projects to improve the climate resilience in the Mata Atlantica and Caatinga (semi arid) biomes of Brazil. Previously, he has worked in the private sector on renewable energy, green buildings and carbon markets in Brazil, USA and Italy. He holds a PhD in Earth and Water Resources from the Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. He is Giorgio Ruffolo Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School.
