STEP 3: MULTI-CHANNEL FINANCE ASSESSMENT
The Coalition staff analyze financing options for Amazonian business models and their possible integration with biodiversity and carbon market funding streams.
Many wild-harvesting and agroforestry ventures in the Amazon want to incorporate carbon revenues in their business models but don’t know how. At the same time, carbon market developers and corporate insetting strategists want reliable carbon sequestration and biodiversity conservation partners. How can they join forces? Opportunities are examined for their carbon and biodiversity potential. Select groups are asked to provide details about supply chains, land use history, forest restoration strategies, carbon accounting, and more, in order to help determine eligibility for accessing both philanthropic and blended financing resources.
STEP 4: MATCHMAKING
Drawing from the pools of stakeholders and opportunities assembled, the Coalition team facilitates matchmaking with relevant stakeholders according to opportunity size, maturity and impact.
- Corporate buyers share requirements about carbon accounting, packaging and ingredients in order to access new supply chains and impact guarantees.
- Investors review decks and financials to consider participation in commercial grade opportunities with qualified benefit sharing strategies.
- Philanthropists and grantmakers consider budgets and rank impact priorities for possible participation in blended finance vehicles, technical assistance programs, and more.
