Announcing the Amazon Bioeconomy Small Grant Evaluation Facility

NGOs, companies and cooperatives are invited to submit proposals for up to $100,000.  The top proposals will be shared with a group of over 30 donors. The submission deadline is October 15, 2023.

Philanthropists, Investors, Companies and Partners Kick Off Amazonia Rising, the 2nd Online Global Summit on Forest-friendly Investing in the Amazon. 

A coalition of dozens of leaders, from indigenous nations and nonprofits to governments and entrepreneurs, kick-off as a global call to action for the future sustainability and prosperity of the Amazon region and its people.  The 2nd annual Amazonia Rising Summit starts today, online, uniting investors, philanthropists, corporate buyers and allies to increase and improve investments in forest-friendly economies and the rule of law. Over the next two weeks, 40+ sessions with over two hundred speakers will offer small group dialogues and plenary presentations to orient public and private capital stakeholders on navigating the ins and outs of forest-friendly Amazon investing. The program will cover carbon markets, agroforestry, blended finance models, community benefit-sharing, indigenous sovereignty, decolonizing capital, biodiversity credits, land rights, impact measurement, biocultural protections, and much more.

Announcing a Global Summit on Investing in the Amazon May 24-28, 2021

On May 24-28, 2021, over 600 investors, philanthropists, governments, celebrities, companies, NGOs, indigenous groups and allies convened online to advance forest-friendly economic development and the rule-of-law across the Amazon region of South America. Over 5 days, with 200 speakers in 45 sessions, we worked in partnership with local communities to design systems of conservation finance that sustain people and forests.

Saving the Amazon: One Investment at a Time – A new Amazon Investor Coalition Launched at United Nations 75 Global Governance Forum

Convened by the United Nations 75 Global Governance Forum, a group of organizations and companies have come together to create the Amazon Investor Coalition to help ensure that the forest is worth more alive and standing than cut and burned. The group believes that there are many opportunities for forest-friendly economic development in the region, and, that by designing the right financial products that reflect such wisdom they can change the game.
